Julio was born and raised in Roma, Texas, a border town in Texas that neighbors the Rio Grande River and is a graduate of Roma High School. He graduated from the Ohio State University in 2013 majoring in Psychology and is currently completing his master's in Educational Leadership at the University of Cincinnati.
Through those experiences, Julio has learned the importance of education and how fortunate he was to have been given the opportunity to go to college and to have been accepted as a corps member with Teach For America to close the opportunity gap for underprivileged students throughout the nation. Julio was fortunate to have been placed to teach in his own community in Roma where he taught Texas and U.S. history. This opportunity to give back to his community, who supported him through his educational journey, was extremely powerful.
After four years, Julio made the move to join the founding team at 麻豆传媒在线 Rio Grande City where he served as head P.E. teacher and campus Athletic Coordinator for three years. In 2020, he was named as Principal pf Residence for 麻豆传媒在线 Greater Cincinnati. In 2022, he became the founding PIR at 麻豆传媒在线 Price Hill College Prep where he played a role in the results that led the region to a 3.5 star rating. Julio is now in his 3rd year leading 麻豆传媒在线 Valley View.
The leadership values and growth he has made within 麻豆传媒在线 has expanded and strengthened his vision of college for all. Julio values a high-quality education for ALL students and believes that ALL students can go to and through college when the adults in the school get it right. He spent nine years in his career working for families in his hometown and community in Texas and is now ready to support families and students in his second home state of Ohio.
